10AM to 4PM

Suggested Donations:

Adults $2.00

Family maximum $5.00

The layout is 35 feet by 60 feet with a 400 foot double track mainline, a separate single track branch line, and supported by many staging yards.

The mainline and branch lines are operational with staging yards, scenery, and computer-based signals in various stages of completion.

During your visit you might see some or all of these trains running on the layout:

  • The Hogwart Express,
  • The Acela Express,
  • Thomas the Train,
  • Passenger express trains,
  • Freight trains,
  • Yard engines switching railcars in the switching yards,
  • other surprises?

The layout is based on the New England area in 1985 from Providence RI to Northern Vermont and reaching Montreal, Canada via staging.

Many more trains will be running during our Open House than during our normal public hours.  It's great holiday fun for the whole family!

Providence Northern Club Car kits will also be available for purchase at the event.

Visiting the Providence Northern

The Providence Northern is open to the public 12PM to 4PM on most Saturdays of the month - we are closed to the public on the last Saturday of the month, and at other times for special events.

Please drop by and see us.  There is no charge for visiting during our standard public hours (special events may require a small admission fee, and will be publicized here).

Our mission to is educate and inform people about the hobby of Model Railroading, and our Warwick exhibit is the centerpiece of our work.  Our layout main line and staging area trackwork are completed, and trains are operating.  The industrial areas are being developed, our switching yards are fully functional, and we continue to make progress in applying scenery detail work. Come by and watch our railroad in miniature being built!

Group visits may be arranged by appointment.  Inquire via the About Us page.
